Who this is for

Adults who want bone health exercise support, with a clear first step for new participants and a faster path for returning members.

We confirm whether it is the right service, which funding may apply, where sessions can happen, and what to do next.

The evidence behind Onero

Onero is built on published bone-health research, delivered under clinical supervision.

For people who have just been told they have low bone density, the first barrier is often fear. We explains the evidence, then checks whether this pathway is suitable before any class step.

LIFTMOR and Onero evidence

74% gained lumbar spine bone density

Reported after 12 months of supervised Onero training in the clinical evidence reviewed for we.

We outcomes data

451 participants tracked over 12 months

Mean lumbar spine BMD improved by 3% across we Onero participants in the supplied clinical outcomes data.

Safety record

1 injury in 6,612 supervised weeks

The published clinical research reports one training-related injury across 6,612 combined weeks of supervised training.

JBMR Top 5 Paper

Recognised by a leading bone journal

The research behind Onero was named a Top 5 Attention Grabbing Paper by the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research in 2017.

ESSA Practitioner Award

Recognised at Research to Practice

Three-year findings from The Bone Clinic won the Practitioner Award at the 2018 ESSA Research to Practice meeting.

Licensed delivery

Evidence first, clinically supervised

We explains the evidence and assessment pathway while exercise programming is delivered by trained clinicians in supervised classes.

LIFTMOR randomized controlled trial

The published Journal of Bone and Mineral Research trial compared supervised high-intensity resistance and impact training with a low-intensity home exercise program in postmenopausal women with low bone mass.

Individual outcomes vary. We confirm clinical suitability through an Exercise Physiology assessment, and you should consult your primary care provider to understand treatment options.

Is it safe for me?

Stronger bones start with the right exercise and the right supervision.

It is natural to feel uncertain about higher-intensity training with an osteoporosis or osteopenia diagnosis. We start with an Exercise Physiology assessment so your history, scan or referral context, co-existing conditions and confidence can be checked before any class step.

Assessment before class

Every new participant starts by asking about a 1:1 Exercise Physiology assessment, not by jumping straight into a group session.

Clinically supervised

Onero is delivered under clinical supervision by appropriately trained health professionals, with loads and progressions monitored.

Scaled to you

Your clinician reviews the starting point and adjusts the pathway to suit your ability, history and confidence as you improve.

Choose your location

Each location has its own bone health page.

Select the closest we location. Cheltenham is labelled separately as Bone Health Classes because it is not the Onero program.

Questions

Onero / Bone Health questions

Yes. New participants should speak with we so assessment needs, class options and next steps can be checked before joining a group class.

Fees depend on the service and your funding pathway. Tell us your funding type in the enquiry and they'll explain the relevant costs up front.

Class days and times vary by clinic and are confirmed when you enquire. Tell us your preferred location and the local team sends the current options.

Cheltenham runs a separate Bone Health Class pathway, not the Onero program. If you choose Cheltenham, we will direct you to the local bone health assessment or class option.

Start with an enquiry. We can confirm the assessment step and what information the Exercise Physiologist needs before you join a class.

Program and class details are confirmed directly by we. The public page avoids publishing class programming, exercise selection, or session structure.

Start with an enquiry. We will confirm the service, location, funding option, and whether an appointment or class is the right next step.

Many people use NDIS, a Medicare referral, DVA, WorkCover, aged-care funding or private funds. Which applies depends on your situation and the service - Tell us what you have and they'll confirm it with you.

Next step
