Avanti HealthServicesOccupational Therapy Home Modifications
Occupational Therapy

Home modifications start with an OT assessment, not a building quote.

Home modification decisions should start with an Occupational Therapy assessment of the person, the daily activity and the home. Avanti does not build or install home modifications.

Who this is for

Older people, families and care teams considering changes to bathroom access, rails, entrances, transfers or equipment at home.

Avanti confirms whether it is the right service, which funding may apply, where sessions can happen, and what to do next.

Describe what is difficult at home and Avanti checks whether an in-home OT assessment is the right next step before recommendations are discussed. Use the form near the bottom of the page and Avanti will confirm the service, location, funding option and next step with you.

What to send first

One message, fewer phone calls - what to include.

Mention the suburb, what is difficult at home, any modification or equipment already being considered, and the funding or referral details available.

Questions

Home Modifications questions

No. Avanti provides Occupational Therapy assessment and recommendations where appropriate. Building, installation and supplier work are separate and are discussed only after the assessment context is clear.

A rail question may require the person, task, movement and home environment to be assessed together. Avanti confirms whether an in-home assessment is appropriate before recommendations are made.

Start with an enquiry. Avanti will confirm the service, location, funding option, and whether an appointment or class is the right next step. Asking doesn't commit you to anything.

Many people use NDIS, a Medicare referral, DVA, WorkCover, aged-care funding or private funds. Which applies depends on your situation and the service - tell Avanti what you have and they'll confirm it with you.

Fees depend on the service and your funding pathway. Tell Avanti your funding type in the enquiry and they'll explain the relevant costs up front.

Next step

Ask about home changes

Mention the suburb, what is difficult at home, any modification or equipment already being considered, and the funding or referral details available.
